About Us
T.E.A.C.H. is a consumer survivor initiative (CSI)

T.E.A.C.H. provides peer support throughout Halton for individuals 16 years and older who live with or have lived with mental health challenges

T.E.A.C.H. operates from a recovery philosophy which views a person with mental health challenges as a person, not a diagnosis, illness or label

All staff, volunteers, students and advisory committee members at TEACH have their own mental health challenges and have experience interacting with the mental health system

Mission Statement
The purpose of T.E.A.C.H. is to provide community based, peer run support programs for individuals living with mental illness. T.E.A.C.H. is committed to using a person-centered, recovery based approach

Spiral of Recovery
T.E.A.C.H.’s logo is The Spiral

The Spiral represents the course of life

Life is unpredictable, there are ups and downs

When painful experiences happen, it may feel as though your life is spiraling out of control

It is important to remember that life is in constant flux

Things will eventually improve again, just as the spiral peaks up again even after its lowest point
